Horseshoe Bend Primary School makes progress!
Exciting updates have been announced regarding the upcoming primary school, temporarily named Horseshoe Bend Primary School, set to open in Term 1 of 2026 at 10 Amber Avenue in Charlemont, just 1.8kms away from Haymont!
Most recently, the school appointed Joel Riddle as its first Principal.
Joel will bring 23 years of experience in government education, previously working as the first Principal of Lollypop Creek Primary School in Werribee. He is excited to bring his experience in creating safe, caring, and inclusive learning environments to the Geelong region.
Details regarding the school’s designs have also been unveiled, including two learning neighbourhoods and an administration and library building upon its opening.
The school will also include outdoor hard courts and a sports field, encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle amongst students.
Additionally, the school will include a community hub featuring an indoor multi-use court, canteen, and arts and music spaces – to be used by the wider community as well as the school’s immediate students.
As construction continues to progress, the school’s foundations and core structure are beginning to take place – with structural steel and roofing complete.
Work is now underway to progress the school’s wall framing and cladding, with internal fit outs to follow.
